Q BOB Will this panel connect to my laptop via usb ? if not what will i need? thanks 2011-10-08 01:27:07
A WIFI-Link Service No, you will need a usb adapter and a cable assembly to go with. You can get the WHOLE KIT at below link, and the only difference between the cables are the length of the cables:

Q Jose Manuel Is this antenna really a planar antenna or a biquad antenna? There aren't images of the panel and I cannot know what kind of antenna it is. Which material have you used as insulator: bakelite, Teflon, fiberglass? Thanks in advance, regards. 2011-08-12 13:50:31
A WIFI-Link Service This is a panel antenna. The inside material is copper and the case is ABS. You can see the pics under "instruction" tab, and the pdf file. 2011-08-12 16:23:40

Q Robert Ok I Am in a steal trailer home and my signal does not get out of my house very good.

So would the Yagi go on his house or my house?

If it goes on my house then I can just disconnect one of my antennas on my router and connect it to the Yagi and that is it correct?

But if it has to go on his house then I will need more things I think.

If it goes on his house then I will have to put an outside antenna from my router on my house. correct?

And if it goes on his house what will I need because he would like to be all wireless by him. So if I am thinking correctly we would have to put the Yagi antenna on his house and connect it to a router with Wi-Fi or something like that so he can have it all wireless.

We do not wont to use the USB thing we want to use the Wi-Fi already in the laptop and add a card to his desktop, he is old and this USB thing would be a problem for him on the laptop. But the USB thing could be used on the desktop PC.

Oh and yes the two antennas on my router do come off (unscrew).

Thank You!!

2009-08-11 02:45:48
A WIFI-Link Service It will be better that you setup the antenna from the transmit side which is your house then share the signal to him,
If there is going to be all wireless, You might need to get an Access Point which get the same brand name from your router and ask to setup WDS then share the signal inside the house.
For the laptop might not need the USB, you can use the buld in wireless to receive the signal.
And the desktop you can setup the USB adapter working with to receive the signal from the Access Point.

Thank you very much.

Q Robert My neighbor is 1000ft away from me and we won’t to share my internet. I have a Linksys Wireless-G Router Model WRT54GS with two antennas. I was looking at this panel because we have two trees between us that we should clear but just incase we thought the extra range would help. Or should we go with a longer range panel?
My big question is do we need a panel on my place and one on his or just one on my place. He wants to use it on his laptop and his desktop (we will add a Wi-Fi card to the desktop)
Also could you point me to the cables I would need to hook the panel to my router?
And anything other I will or may need.
2009-07-23 02:15:01
A WIFI-Link Service Regarding to your question,
We will suggest that you choose the Yagi antenna to work with your case, the Yagi antenna is good to working with trees.
Before you order the antenna you need to check the antenna on your router can be unscrew off or not. then get the antenna to work with.

For desktop or the laptop part your neighbor can get the USB adapter set from below website,
http://www.wifi-link.com/set_usb.php

Thank you very much

A WIFI-Link Service At the moment we don.t have the set for only the USB adapter, Panel 14dBi and cable, also the 18dBi Panel antenna,
If you need the cable between Antenna to USB adapter, you can choose the RP SMA male to N male type adapter,
For longer than 7meter you can choose the LLC400 type, for shorter than 7meter you can choose the LLC200 cable type.

Thank you very much.

Q cangus Will this work with a MacBook? How far away can you be forom a signal and still pick it up? 2007-06-10 00:22:34
A WIFI-Link Service It will depend on the wireless card or router, not from the Antenna, so if the wireless card which you choose can work with Mac then the antenna can work with MAC book. In line of sigh area which can receive the wireless signal from about 3000feet away.

Thank you very much.
