I.ve obtained a liquidation of about 500 Proxim AP-2500 Access Points with YDI2441 1 Watt Bi-Directional Amps. Each has an ORiNOCO 802.11b Gold Card. About half of these are new in external cast aluminum enclosures with Westell Wirespeed DSL Modems and a power supply that powers the amp, modem and Access point from a 120v supply. I.m trying to cover about 17 sq miles with WIFI coverage with these. I have plenty of Access Points but I want to do this as efficiently as possible. I am in a coastal area with mostly tourists that will access the WIFI. I know with 15dbi Omni.s and these APs I could get good range but I think it may be waste because there will be a lot of people who can see the APs with their laptops but not hit them. A vertical polarized antenna with only 6 degrees vertical seems like it would be fine to provide access for customers in a fixed location and decent range on their client device but not many tourists with blackberries and notebooks will be able to hit it more than a few hundred feet away. Do you have any MIMO non-line of sight solutions that may be better for an antenna on these things? Also, the AP-2500 has built-in AAA but I.m wondering if it would still be better to just run a single external AAA and Radius server. A lot of these will be connected to dynamic ip addresses. The APs have built-in support for Authorize.net. Bypassing that and going with an external authentication and RADIUS server it clients signing up on any AP would have access through any other AP as well. I don.t know about true MESH capability. Proxim says that unit can.t MESH but ever since Terabeam bought out Proxim and YDI the people in tech support don.t see to know what they.re talkng about.
Also, low loss antenna cable.....It would be convenient to be able to run low enough loss antenna cable so I don.t have to mount these boxes on the tops of houses, etc. Our area has a building height restriction of 50 ft, and is pretty flat. There is one 20 story condo right in the middle of the area that was built before the height restrictions went into place. About 70% of the homes are vacation rentals. I plan to offer renters of vacation rentals that allow me to host APs on their homes free access if they provide the DSL line. I know the phone company doesn.t like that, but, if I have to I can do business lines for not much more and then they don.t care.
Suggestions for antennas, and cabling would be apprecaited....

Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for your information,
Regarding about the suggestion of the antenna and cables,
The bast way, could you please provide us your plan for the area,
Normally for the big area only one Antenna will be not enough, also if you would like to share the signal for many people.
If you can provide us the plan and how many user will share your signal we can provide the drawing with full detail to you.
For the Cable part, it will depend on the how long you need.
Thank you very much,
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards,
