How safe is banking or using a credit card over unsecured networks? If I'm using my neighbors unsecured signal am I at the same risk or less? Is there a way to use the open network and still be secure? What if I rebroadcast the signal over a router, and make my own secure network? I have done this and seem to be getting a much more powerful and faster connection off a weak connection from my neighbor; how is this possible?

This is possibly when piggybacking on a signal, locking the ip or mac address? I'm not doing anything by rebroadcasting with a wpa code that my other home computers are logging into?

The unsecured wifi is not safe when you are doing the banking or credit card.
The best way, you can lock the MAC address or the IP address to make sure no one can use your WIFI signal.
Thank you very much.
