How do you get the USB adapter to work with Windows 7? I've tried everything!
Have both the 500mw and 1000mw USB wireless adapters

Turned of firewall and reinstalled. RTL8187 utility still wont open and work. It just tries to open and blinks but never opens the full utility for full use.
I can get the Realtek RTL8187B utility to open but wont connect to the hardware. No signals!

windows securing window never pops up. the application tries to load properly but keeps blinking and then closes. The "disable adapter" box is always checked at the bottom. if I uncheck it, it just closes. something is not allowing it to stay open or fully load.

Below is the information,
Warnings:
1. Please leave the USB adapter unplugged before the driver installation.
2. Please be patient with the whole installation process. It may take up some time to complete the installation.
3. During the installation process; the monitor might blink. It is considered as normal response.
4. Please restart your computer after the installation is completed, and plug in the USB adapter.
Install instructions.
1. Insert the CD came with the USB adapter.
2. DO NOT LET SYSTEM automatically run the CD. Go to My Computer and Right Click the CD and choose OPEN in new window as below
3a. Right click the file “ Setup.exe ”(this is for 500mW type) under the CD directory, and click “ Setup Properties” tab. Check the box for “Run this program as an administrator” under Privilege level.
3b. Please open " Driver" then, open " RTL8187L_WindowsDriver" (this is for 1000mW) type
Right click the file “ Setup.exe ”under the CD directory, and click “ Setup Properties” tab. Check the box for “Run this program as an administrator” under Privilege level.
4. Then go to the compatibility mode: check the box for run this program in compatibility mode for, pick out “ Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)” from the drop –down menu, and then hit OK.
4. Go back to the driver directory and double click the set.exe file to start installation the driver. When Windows Security Windows pops up, just choose install this driver software anyway”. Restart the computer and plug in the USB adapter.
