All I have is an Linksys 2.4 802.11g router. I live on an Island so no lanlines come out this far.So have to use hughes.net for internet with download restrictions. Trying to catch a signal from neighbors on the other side on the lake 1 - 2 miles away. Need info on what i would need to get to do this? All the help and info would be very useful thanks for anyone that can provide knowledge in this area.

You would need a high gain antenna to go your distance. I hear that they can go about 3 miles. But call the help # on this site and they should be able to set you up with everything you need just the way you want.
