hi, im needing a little bit of help. Im trying to build a network between two buildings that are 1.7 km away from each other, there is almost direct line of sight. At the one end there is a few trees. I am wondering what i should be using to build this network link. And will i need to be using one antenna, or one at each end?
Thanks

Regarding about your question,
Normally the range of the Panel antenna 16dbi will about 1.5-2.0km, however we will still suggest that you use Panel antenna 18dbi to get strong signal. Please see the information in this web page:
Panel 16dbi antenna: http://www.wifi-link.com/product.php?action=product&class1_id=1&class2_id=4&class3_id=160&product_id=13
Panel 18dbi antenna: http://www.wifi-link.com/product.php?action=product&class1_id=1&class2_id=4&class3_id=160&product_id=14
It will be better you use two antenna for one each end,
One is for sending the signal another one is for receiving the siganl.
You also need the RF cable to contact with the antenna and the Rotuer:
For the cable Part, you need to know how long you need, also what kind connector is for your AP, for checking the connector type, you can see the information from this page,
http://www.wifi-link.com/document.php?action=detail&doc_id=8
If you still have the problem with the connector, you can also send us the photo or the part number of your AP, we will check it for you,
If the length is shorter 7m, we will suggest that you use LLC 200 cable,http://www.wifi-link.com/product.php?class1_id=225&class2_id=261
More than 7m, you will need LLC400 cable,http://www.wifi-link.com/product.php?class1_id=226&class2_id=280
The impprtant thing will be you have to build your antenna on the highest place of the building, it will be better you can face the way which have no tree between, you will get the good signal.
You also can get more information from your information webpage,
http://www.wifi-link.com/document.php
Thank you very much.
