Share my signal with brother?? What do I need?
Author Keith Posted time 2008-03-09 19:03:36
Contents I would like to share my Internet connection with brother who lives about 300 yards, line of site. I have a Linksys WRT54G and a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54. I presently use the Buffalo router for wireless internet in my house. Can I assume I can hookup the Linksys for my home wireless, then use the Buffalo as a access point and use an antenna with the Buffalo to shoot a signal to my brother? If this will work, can I assume I need another antenna on my brother.s end along with another router? (probably one you can hookup an external antenna like the buffalo?) Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Contents I would prefer to keep my Buffalo router as an AP at my house(already configured and ready to go), hook a (yagi ok?) antenna to it and shoot a signal to my brother.s. I would like to purchase another Buffalo router for my brother with an antenna to pick up the signal. Do you recommend yagi.s for both ends?

Contents I will suggest that you choose the Buffalo.s AP to work in your brother.s house. which will be easy for you to setup.

For about 300yard, you can choose below antenna set to work with your case.
