1 mile without line of site
Author jc0r Posted time 2008-01-25 19:07:07
Contents Hi.I need to try and get a wireless link upto a range of 1 mile however i do not have line of site. Is there anything you could suggest please? The range would vary from day to day, sometimes as close as 200 meters but again without the line of site. Size and cost is not so much of a concern, i would rather have something that was a little to powerful for my needs as long as it could provide me with a great connection.

Also please could you tell me, if i achieve a good signal, what the latency of the network would roughly be? How much would the extra distance effect my ping?

Regards

Jon

Contents Regarding to your question,

You can choose our U-Tenna to work with your laptop to receive the wireless signal from 1mile away, becasue in your area which is not the line of sight, when you set up the antenna you might need to choose the good direction to receive the wireless signal and get better performance.

This is the antenna link.

Thank you very much

Contents I forgot to add, i would not like a point to point system as on the recieving end there will be a mobile laptop and not really any area to fix such an object. Ideally i was looking for some sort of high gain antenna plugged into the latop which would be able to pick up a good signal from the base station which can be made as powerful as possible.
