access point router question
Author Mike B Posted time 2007-10-04 18:36:23
Contents when hooking up the cables from the sending and receiving antennas to the routers, you have to unscrew one of the antennas from the access point routers. Does it matter which antenna you use on the router?

Reply WIFI-LINK Reply Time 2007-10-13 04:12:47
Contents When you work between the router and AP you can just use the LAN cable to connect with each other, then the coaxial cable just need to work between the AP to the Antenna.
If the AP and the router is near to each other you can just use the standart dipole antnena to contact each other don.t really need to change the dipole antenna from your router.
Mostly customer when they do the wireless setup they will choose use the LAN cable to work between the router and the AP.

If you have any other question please let us know. you can also email to support@wifi-link.com

Thank you very much

Reply confused? Reply Time 2007-10-12 23:11:56
Contents I am confused with your reply.
From the sending point, I have a linksys wap54g access point connected to a linksys wireless router, which is connected to a cable modem. I took the left antenna off from the access point and connected 50ft of the 400 low loss cable to the where the antenna used to be. the other end runs outside to the omni directional 15 decibal antenna. Do I have to take an antenna off the wireless router too? and connect an adapter cable between the access point and the wireless router?

Contents No, it doesn.t matter which antenna you are using, just need to make use you can unscrew the antenna from the router and the access point then work with the adatper cable to the antenna.

Thank you very much
