Hello,
I.m trying to connect to a Wi-Fi hot spot near where I live and can.t using my current wireless network card (LinkSys). .. I guess I need some sort of device to add to my PC but I.m confused about the products available.
I live in a small manufactured home community across from an RV resort. The RV resort has a Wi-Fi hot spot that we can pay to use. The closest access point is about 100-150 feet from my home. I cannot connect to the hot spot from home, but if I take my laptop across the street that separates us from the RV resort, I can connect. I.ve read about adding an attenae or using an adapter or bridge but am thoroughly confused about what I actually need.
I.d like something that would allow me to connect using my old laptop (Win98SE, LinkSYs wireless adapter card) or my deskop (HP Pavillion, XP Pro, LinkSys wireless adapter). Note that I do NOT have internet access in my home so I do NOT have a modem or a router.
Would appreciate any suggestions! THANKS

If you haven.t get the wireless card, you can choose other USB adapter with 12dBi antenna to receive the wireless signal from the hotsport,
Below is the link you take look the antenna set,

Please remeber that you need to setup the antenna outside of your place to receive the wireless signal.
Thank you very much
