need some mounting advise.
Author pitviper0404 Posted time 2007-09-09 04:25:43
Contents I purchased the system you recomended in a previous post http://www.wifi-link.com/product.php?action=product&class1_id=437&class2_id=438&class3_id=460&product_id=1191

The only small problem, which was my fault, i did not specify the correct router I have, so the system did not come with the correct adapter. This problem was solved, I have ordered one and it should be here in a few days.

My main question would be mounting/positioning the transmitting box. My easiest option would be to mount it in the attic above my rear porch. This would keep it out of the weather, but would it be able to send its full signal through half inch plywood and some vinyl siding? Would the heat from the attic negitively affect the devise? please advise on best mounting practices, there were no instructions in the box. Also, how forgiving is the signal path coming from this unit? Can I just point it in the general direction of the house I want to sent the signal or would I have to aim it precicely?

Thanks for youe time, Lee

Contents Regarding to your question,

For Panel antenna you can juset point it in the general direction of the house to receive the wireless signal, however if you can point it in the really correct way then the wireless signal will be better.

We can not pomise that you can get 100% wireless thought the plywood, sometime the weather and the blacker will stop the wireless signal and make it weak.

Thank you very much
