Hi, Your forum is great. I am a newbie and wanting to get set up with my wireless. I have a non-wireless desktop and two intergrated notebooks. I have a hot spot outside my door but I can not access it within my house. I would like to purchase a antenna but what dbi? What is the difference? I have coax cable for my shortwave radio. Will this work? What type of coax do I need?
I am leaning toward the Yagi antenna connected to a Dipole for the
inside. I live in a one story, can the Dipole sit in the attic and work well? Will this broadcast the signal inside for the notebooks or do I need a router to do that?
Should I use the USB adapter for the desktop or will a PCI card be faster.

Regarding to your question,
At the first for the antenna part, we need to know how far from your house to the hotspot, also can you receive the signal or not right now.
The high gain (dBi) will provide longer distance.
But the coaxial will not work with the antenna because it has different frequancy.
You can choose the coaxial cable from our website however it will depend on the cable length and the connection and different.
For the receive the signal inside,
We will suggest you use the AP to receive the signal first then share the signal inside your house which the signal will be more stable.
Most USB adapter and the PCI card will have the same speed and the power, so that you can choose the one easy for you to setup.
Thank you very much
