In general I know the shorter the cable the better. However, does a higher gain antenna will be able to compensate using a simple math, say, 3db more gain will be able to allow 3db cable loss. Longer cable is a little easier for setup. Reply WIFI-LINK Reply Time 2006-09-18 09:06:02 Contents Rregarding to your question, The Loss of the LLC 400 cable will be 100ft/ 6.8dB, The Loss of the LLC 240 cable will be 100ft/ 12.9dB Normally the thick cable will get lower loss. When the cable loss is 3db and the antenna is 3db then the antenna will be 0db which probably can.t transmit any wireless siganl. Thank you very much.
