Two WRT54G Linksys wireless routers separated by 800 ft
Author New Customer Posted time 2006-07-25 21:50:58
Contents I.ve got a WRT54G in each house and each house is separated by around 800 ft with no obstructions. I ordered two 10dbi Panels with mounting kits and two 15 ft sections of N male to TNC male cable.

I.m thinking the two panels should easily cover 800 ft with clear line of sight.

If I ordered wrong let me know so I can correct it before shipping.

Thx,

Order: # C0950725-0006

Currently I.m using one 5.5 high gain antenna on each and have on average a 25% signal which isn.t bad, but I.d like to see if up near 50% to maintain a high bandwidth.

Contents Thank you,

Would you know how much gain I will lose using the 15 ft of cable?

I.m hoping the 10dbi won.t go to a 4 dbi because of the cable length or I.ll lose a lot of dbi. If the dbi will drop a lot then I.d need to go to a bigger panel to compensate for the cable loss.

Contents Dear Sir,
You are right, the Panel antenna 10dbi can cover about 800ft,
You need to make sure the antenna can see each other.
And you are doing the Point to Point system.

Thank you very much
